Custom arrays:
Robotic spotting of your microaray library
Researchers who require custom microarrays should contact FlyChip directly to discuss their precise requirements. A large variety of spot densities and patterns can be accommodated. Further downstream technical assistence is also available, for example, RNA extraction, labelling, hybridisation, spot-finding, etc.
Our microarrays are printed using a BioRobotics MicroGrid II Total Array System (MicroGrid II) and up to 48 BioRobotics MicroSpot 2500 split-pins or a Genetix Qarray2[stacker] with up to 48 aQu75 capillary pins. This combination of instrumentation and spotting pins affords a high degree of flexibility with regard to both spot density and array design.
All microarrays are subjected to stringent quality control. Arrays can either be supplied ready for hybridisation, if they will be required shortly after delivery or, they can be dispatched packaged for longer-term storage. Protocols will be supplied if processing will be required before hybridisation, as is the case for some microarray substrates.
Refer to microarray spot tracking file formats for a description of our spot tracking file format.
